If you are looking to start breeding bettas, it would be a good idea to buy "Starter bettas" first. These bettas are bettas from the petstore. There isnt really anypoint to buy expensive bettas without experience in breeding them. So like most breeders, start out with petstore bettas and get use to breeding them.

When you get the hang of it you might want to try and breeder better bettas. If your looking for a quality line, you must pay your dues.  If you willing, buy good stock and breed them so you will have your own stock of these fishes. Spend money to make money.

In conclusion: Start with petstore bettas when starting a career. Then work your way up to better bettas.
